The following is a brief outline of those guidelines:
All products are rotated and restocked promptly with special care given to lab diets. Date codes (especially Vitamin C sensitive products) are monitored to ensure that the customer is getting the freshest possible product.
All lab diets are stored in a temperature-monitored room. This room is equipped witha termometer that measures the temperature and humidity inside the room. the temperature is logged on frequent basis so we can adjust it accordingly if there are any fluctuations. The room is cooled by an industrial air conditioning unit.
Newco currently uses no harmful insecticides or rodenticides in the lab diet room or warehouse; we are using glue traps and tin cat mousetraps, which have been extremely efective in keeping the facility pest free. The pest conrol company presently being used is: Western Exterminator Company.
Newco follows strict sanitation guidelines. All of our employees are instructed to pick up an damaged or spilled product immediately. Damaged products are then taken to an enclosed room where it is prepared for shipment back to the manufacturer or for disposal. All of our floors and restroom facilities are swept and kept clean at all times. As part of our sanitation program Newco will not pick up any Laboratory feed or bedding from any Laboratory facility and bring it back into Newco as stock product. Newco further does not sell or transport any live or dead animals to feed bedding products.
All products are kept off the floor on pallets or pallet racks and a safe distance from the walls of our temperature controlled room to further inhibit product damage and pests.
All the lab related products are also monitored as they leave our warehouse. All date codes are logged on the order load sheets before they are delivered, this is important so that we can locate exactly who received the product when they received it, and what date the manufacturer lot numbers are in case of a problem.
Purina representatives inspect Newco on a regular basis to ensure that all of our quality control measures meet their standards. We must qualify each time to remain a Certified Lab Dealer. In addtion, all of the Purina lab diets are manufactured in a chemically free plant. Purina Mills' plant in Richmond, Indiana is an ISO 9002 Certified facility.
Representatives are always on hand to answer any questions you might have. We presently have a Newco Representative available to visit your facility and answer any questions you may have regarding feed or bedding.
Any customer wishing to have their orders delivered on plastic pallets may do so for a minimal fee. Plastic pallets are rotated and cleaned on a regular basis. The customer may be provided wth a 'Letter of Participation' upon request.
